Sterilization- the crucial reassuring factor

The sterilization system adopted at Balaji Multispeciality Dental Centre is arguably the best. BMDC is also an amalgam-free clinic. Personalized sterilization concept may be opted at our clinic. At BMDC, we regard hygienic standards at the highest level and BMDC always look to provide a safe and clean environment.

We employ hospital cleanliness standards and sterilization techniques.

The new pre-vacuumed autoclave technology ensures that the instruments are completely sterilised reliably and consistently. Unique color coding system that indicates the completion of the sterilization process.

We have introduced individualized sterile packs that contain the instruments as in the photograph. Our patients are reassured when a new pack of supplies is opened in front of them prior to treatment.

The instruments that contact teeth in drilling and polishing are either sterilized or discarded between patients.

The suction system is one of the most important items in the dental practice that makes a vital contribution to practice hygiene and protection against infection. Our clinic uses suction machines from Durr Dental, imported from Germany.

We use protective equipment such as latex gloves, masks, eyewear, and lab coats. And when possible, we use disposable items.

Personal sterilization options:
BMDC also offer the option to purchase your own dental hand piece for you and/or your family’s individual use on request. Please do kindly ask our staff if you do wish to take up this personalized option at our clinic for you and your family.

We at Dr. Rajeev Gupta’s Balaji Dental Multispeciality Clinic have always been taking the most strict measures to check cross infections.

Sterlization in a step wise manner include

Savlon Dip
After use, the instruments from each patient are dipped in saturated solution of Savlon for 24 hours in an ultrasonic unit.

The instruments are kept in the ultrasonic cleaner for 20 minutes to shake off all the debris. Ultra sonic machines then suck out the smallest impurities from the tiniest crevices of instruments.

Autoclaving
After scrubbing and washing these instruments, they are properly wrapped and subjected to autoclaving cycle in a steam autoclave. After the sterilization cycle of 121 degree Celsius for 15 minutes and 15 pounds pressure is complete, the instruments are taken out of the drums and stored in a U.V cabinet where UV rays keep them sterilized for 24 hours.

Surface Disinfection
Surface Disinfection of all operation surfaces and dental units is done using disinfectants. Special care is taken to clean the spittoons and machinery in use after each patient. Cellophane is used to cover the most touched parts of the dental units and is changed after every patient.

Disposables
To have a full proof system of checking cross infections, disposable glasses, bowls, patient instrument trays, gloves, masks, suction tips and patient napkins are used for each patient.

Waste management
The clinic is affiliated to Bio-Medical Waste Management Authority of Delhi. All the waste is packed in separate color coded bags and is taken care of by the Biomedical Waste Management Board.

Sterile packs
We have introduced individualized sterile packs that contain the instruments as in the photograph. Our patients are reassured when a new pack of supplies is opened in front of them prior to treatment.
